The St. Mary's C.E Reading Partnership

We will:

• Teach your child how to read through shared, guided and individual reading
• Assess your child's reading regularly, set achievable targets and record progress in our school assessment files
• Provide your child with a range of exciting and enjoyable texts to choose from
• Encourage your child to read widely for information and pleasure.

Parents are asked to:

• Read regularly with children at home
• Ensure that children take care of books by providng them with a folder for carrying them to and from school
• Make sure that children bring their book bag to school every day
• Record what, and how, children have read in their partnership book

Pupils are asked to:

• Bring their reading kit to school every day
• Take care of all books
• Strive to achieve their reading targets
• Record what they have read in their partnership book
